The all new-improved…

How can something be all new if it’s improved? To be improved the item had to be in existence previously to the improved claim. So therefore something that already exists can be improved upon. But if that thing that already exists has been improved upon, it is no longer new. New indicates it didn’t exist before, that it is something fresh and unknown to us. If it’s been improved upon it therefore must have existed, therefore it isn’t new.

So this website has been dissected, directed and dismembered and is definitely no longer new. But it has been improved, if only because it’s now empty. So I guess that makes it new also, right?

Clear as mud?
